Kathy Bishop has been a magazine and newspaper writer and editor for close to 20 years. She has written articles for numerous publications, including Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, Elle, and Harper's Bazaar. Julie Whitehead is president of the strategic and financial consulting firm Pearson Enterprises. Both authors live, and parent, in New York City, and together created this big, sprawling book of ideas and resources for parents who choose the complexities, difficulties and wonders of city living, including everything from apartment space saving ideas to how to find the best public and private schools to dealing with nanny-poachers to outdoor safety and extracurricular activities.
