LOVE IN A TIME OF HOMESCHOOLING: A Mother and Daughter's Uncommon Year (HarperCollins, 2010)

Laura Brodie received a B.A. from Harvard and an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Virginia, and is currently a Visiting Professor of English at Washington and Lee University. Her first book, BREAKING OUT: VMI and the Coming of Women, was published by Pantheon and Vintage. Her first novel, THE WIDOW'S SEASON, won the Faulkner Society of New Orleans 2005 prize for Best Novel-In-Progress and is due to be published by Berkley Books. She is currently at work on LOVE IN A TIME OF HOMESCHOOLING, a memoir forthcoming from HarperCollins, about homeschooling her ten-year-old daughter, Julia, an experience which she described in the cover feature of the March 2007 issue of Brain,Child magazine. She lives with her husband and their three young daughters in Lexington, Virginia.
